I cannot handle wearing false nails. I am probably one of the last known girls on the planet who doesn't wear acrylic or false nails and would be lying if I said I didn't feel *slightly* left out when the conversation comes up about 'who does your nails?' .. 'how much are yours?'..blah blah blah.

However, I am willing to accept this to protect my nails from the horror that is false nails. I succumbed to the pressure once and paid £25.00 for a lovely french manicured look and within days had my nails soaking in *acetone free* nail polish remover.  (yes I misunderstood instructions).

I now stick to what I know and do my nails myself.  More fun and less expensive.

Recently, I have been loving glitter tips on my nails and tried this look out for a more natural look.

Heres a step by step guide for what I did  ...

1. Remove any nail polish to start with a fresh natural nail.

2. Apply two coats of french pink colour.

I used Rimmel 60 Seconds in Princess Pink (200)

3. I used Models Own Champagne Glitter on the tips in a french manicure style. I find a good way of doing this is to hold the brush with one hand and place my finger underneath to swipe it under the brush as usually the hand that is being painted is a lot steadier than the one holding the brush. (Is this just me?)

4. To create a gradient glitter effect, I then used Models Own Hed Kandi Disco Heaven nail polish. After dipping the brush, I dabbed quite a lot back into the bottle to make sure the glitter was quite sparse on the brush. Then begin to create the gradient. As it builds up, you can begin to use the glitter mostly on the ends.

5. Finish with one coat of clear gloss, clear up around the edges with a cotton bud and you're done <3

Hope you like the end results!

  5. I can do fake nails every now and again. Only if my nails are already in really bad condition (good logic, I know) and I really need them to look good but I totally agree. They make using my phone hard and picking money up, oh christ.
