REVIEW || Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer

Wednesday, 28 August 2013

I bought the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer after watching haircare videos by Amelia Liana and getting serious hair envy. Amelia said this helped to improve her hair's condition to allow it to grow, which is exactly what I need.

The Elasticizer is a pre-shampoo treatment, which is a bit unusual for me since I'm used to hair masks and hanging around with my hair in a towel after my shower. This treatment should be applied to wet hair too, which means sticking my hair in the sink beforehand to wet the lower half. After combing the product through my hair, I put on the little shower cap that comes with it and start to kill some time. The box says 10-20 minutes but I've been leaving it for around 45 minutes or as long as I can. The longer the better, I think!

When it's time to rinse it out, my hair feels so unbelievably smooth and soft. At first, it felt a bit wrong to shampoo afterwards because I'd normally expect to wash away the results, but that just doesn't happen. After shampooing and conditioning, there's still a huge difference when I've used this treatment. This just proves that it does really work at treating your hair, and isn't just a temporary coating or oil to make it feel smooth.

I've been using this every second wash and my hair has never felt better. I'd say I've used about half of it within the last four weeks, so the £20-£25 price tag isn't so bad when it lasts so long and works so well. I'd highly recommend this for dry, damaged or coloured hair that needs some extra moisture!

Have any of you tried this?

    1. You should it's so worth it! I've just bought the shampoo again cos it's on sale on Feel Unique just now :) xx

  2. Thanks for reminding me about this. I used it before when I bleached my hair to DEATH and I think it was the only thing that saved it. It could definitely do with a bit of TLC at the moment, too!
