My Halloween Costumes

Sunday, 27 October 2013
Hello! Today I thought I'd do a post on what I wore for the Halloween parties I went to this weekend. I decided not to buy an actual costume this year. There were so many amazing tutorials on YouTube that I thought I'd go all out on the face make up and just wear something of my own - the cheaper and more fun option!

So on Friday, I went to a charity Halloween party and my costume definitely didn't go to plan. I'd bought red contact lenses, vampire fangs and planned on wearing all black and vampire make up like this tutorial by Carli Bybel. Sounds like an easy costume doesn't it?

The make up went well but I underestimated how hard it is to put contact lenses in. When I finally got them in, my eyes watered so much that I had to take them out (and re-do my eye make up). Then there was the fangs. First of all. they were far too big for my teeth, and they had this horrible putty that just didn't stick. So basically, I was a fang-less vampire in a leather skirt! I ended up just pretending I had fangs and pulling some vampire-y poses! My boyfriend and his friend won 'best costume' for being Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus which was hilarious! I kind of wish they'd had a 'worst costume' award ...

On Saturday, my friend had a party and I 'dressed up' as a Sugar Skull. There were so many tutorials on YouTube that I loved, but I decided to do this one by Mariam Luso. I love how colourful it is. Mariam uses glitter and jewels on hers, which I didn't have, but I was still really happy with how it turned out.

I used white face paint for the base and the colours were a mix of eye shadows, lip liners and eye liners. I already had these floral headbands and wore this floral midi skirt and bralet, so it turned out to be a really inexpensive costume!
