FAB Customer Service!

Thursday, 28 March 2013
If you read my recent post (below this one), you'll know that I was *forced* (willingly and excitedly) into Boots on Saturday to repurchase all my skincare products that somehow simultaneously ran out.

Then, I tweeted on Saturday night that I was a bit confused/disappointed that, on squeezing out my new First Aid Beauty face cleanser, I noticed it had burst on the wrong side and I'd lost most of the product. 'Noooooo!'

This stuff is like liquid gold to me. And I knew that I wouldn't get the chance to return it to Boots until the following weekend. And I can't exactly use the rest of the product and then return it?! Dilema!

UNTIL, the lovely team at First Aid Beauty (@firstaidbeauty on twitter) tweeted me back, apologised and offered to send me a replacement!

I am always extremely appreciate of good customer service. It really does leave me smiling! It's so refreshing to see a company who seek out to help their customers online with as little hassle as possible - there was none of the usual 'pay postage, return it, wait a few weeks, then we'll replace it' carry on that I've experienced elsewhere.

This was quick, polite, helpful and left me with a big smile on my (non-spotty) face.

The parcel arrived within two days AND as if that wasn't good enough, they also through in a little surprise Ultra Repair cream.

Current skincare routine

Tuesday, 26 March 2013
Hello everyone! Remember me?!

I've got so much on at the moment and won't bore you with the details, but I'm so glad to get a chance to post again!:)

On top of everything, I'm saving for holidays at the end of April and times are hard on the cash front. So it was no surprise when ALL my skincare products seemed to run out within days of each other!
Cue huge Boots spending spree - not ideal just before payday.

On the bright side, I now have brand new shiny bottles which makes it the perfect time for a post on my current skincare routine!

My skin is sensitive, combination and prone to breakouts. It's been hard finding products that suit my sensitive skin but are still strong enough to deal with the breakouts!

These are all the products I use in my morning/night time skin care routine.

I'm now in the habit of using my Clarisonic Mia twice a day, morning and night and although its a bit on the pricey side, its definately worth it. I bought mine via Buya Powa (great site!) for around £95.00 as it was discounted.

I use the First Aid Beauty face cleanser in the morning and nights. I put it straight onto my Clarisonic for the full two minutes and it gives my face a really deep clean. This cleanser is excellent for keeping spots at bay.

After I'm done with the face cleanser, I dry my face off and use the Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing lotion. Now, I know what you're
thinking .. 'deep cleansing twice?'...but this lotion is more like a toner. It picks up any residue and any left over make-up.
And its AMAZING for drying up spots.

To put the moisture back into my face in the morning, I use
Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Moisturiser.
This moisturiser is really thick, sinks into the skin and it has a lovely brightening effect under my full coverage make-up.
I highly recommend this moisturiser, it's the best I've ever found!

For moisturiser in the evenings, I use L'Oreal Revitalift Night cream. At twenty-three, I'm obsessed with anti-wrinkle products - I can't face Botox needles so need to keep up with everyone else haha! My skin feels really soft in the morning after using this cream. There's no residue in the morning and my skin still feels clean!

What's your favourite skincare products?xxx

PANIC - Follow me !

Thursday, 14 March 2013
My bed is in our living room, my clothes are in boxes in the kitchen and I won't be able to blog properly until Sunday at the earliest - it will be worth it!

Anyway, this is just a quick post to join the panic on twitter/blogger/bloglovin/everywhere!

I have been so happy with the followers I've gained since starting my blog in January so I'm disappointed to hear that GFC is going :-(

Just wanted to let you know you can still follow me on BlogLovin here

I'm still getting used to it, but so far I actually really like it!

I will be back to regular blogging and normal life on Sunday!

My Favourite Tanning Products

Friday, 8 March 2013
Happy weekend everyone!
Time is flying and I can't believe it's Friday again!

I am a lover of fake-tan and since its rumoured that the Winter may actually end, I'm finally back into regular tanning. Today, I thought I'd share my favourite products that I've discovered in my ten years of tanning!

These range from, in my opinion, quite expensive to really cheap.

I love every one of these products!

1. Creightons 'Fake Don't Bake' ..99p Home Bargains
(Not available online but for an extra pound you can find it here.)

You haven't misread that price. It really is only 99p. Now, give me a chance to explain. Like me, you probably looked at the name/price and thought it's a cheap, poor quality copy. I can't even remember how I ended up buying this but I'm going to guess that the price made me think, 'why not?'.

This body cream smells gorgeous - it reminds me of tan accelerator that they sell in sun bed shops. It's a medium tan that looks natural on my olive skin.
I apply this before bed and by the time I've showered in the morning, the smell from the tan disappears. The best thing about this is how long it lasts - it stays perfect for about 5-7 days and fades naturally without looking patchy.

2. Garnier Summer Body Lotion £5.10 at Boots

UK beauty blogger

If I'm not lucky enough to be sporting a real tan, I replace my normal body moisturiser with Summer Body Lotion. It's so moisturising and smells like apricots! It applies smoothly, dries within a few minutes and doesn't streak.

I apply with bare hands and wash them quickly afterwards. Summer body gives me a nice, light natural tan. I love that you don't need a break in between tanning, you can continue to apply it every day without it becoming uneven. This just replaces my moisturiser so there's no extra effort!

3. Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Dry Face Mist
£8.49 at Boots

UK Beauty blog

My skin is quite sensitive and I've had horrible breakouts before where I've applied tan to my face. This spray is made for the face and is really good on my sensitive skin. I use this after my night cream and spray it lightly over my face and neck. It gives a lovely colour under my make-up and matches my face with the rest of my body. If I'm using fake tan on my body, I will use this every few days as naturally, fake tan fades faster on the face!

4. Darker than Dark self-tanning Bronzing lotion
£17.95 at Laurens Way

Laurens Way Self tanning lotion

This tan applies differently to the rest. It has a colour guide so goes on really dark which is really helps you know what areas you've covered. The smell reminds me of a chocolate orange, but its probably just orange scented and the colour made me think 'chocolate' ! When you wash it off in the morning, you have a lovely dark (but not orange) tan. I used this on my face aswell (risky, i know) but it turned out lovely!

I'd love to know what tanning products, if any, that you all use so please leave a comment :) ! xxx

p.s - I reached 50 followers this week and I'm so happy! Thank you all so much for reading and following me, it means so much!

Spring Biker Jackets - Wish List

Wednesday, 6 March 2013
The weather is FINALLY starting to get (a little) better.

I've taken this as the green light to start looking at Spring clothes!

I'm not deluded enough to start buying shorts and sandals yet, but as I live in Scotland, there's never a better investment than a spring jacket.

Apart from the rare 'heatwave' , it doesn't get much warmer than jacket weather.

I have a thing about biker jackets. I just love them.

Here's some of the spring jackets I've got my eye on.

1. White woven biker jacket - H&M £29.99
2. Monochrome print biker jacket - River Island £45.00
3. Combination Linin Biker Jacket - Zara £59.99

I've been looking for a light coloured jacket for Spring for a while since I've worn so much black over the Winter, I'm dying to feel a bit brighter!

And I could feel myself building up outfits in my head as soon as I saw this monochrome beauty!(2) I've become slightly obsessed with it since writing this post aswell so expect to see it in an outfit post soon haha!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation and Powder

Tuesday, 5 March 2013
Since I discovered Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, I pretty much stopped trying anything else. This foundation gives me flawless skin ALL day, so I don't need to look elsewhere .. Well you'd think so anyway..

I just find it difficult to walk past all the other products and not try them out! About a month ago, I ended up leaving Boots with a bag of L'Oreal products (3 for 2 of course).

I picked up the L'Oeal Paris True Match foundation in Golden Beige and coordinating L'Oreal Paris True Match face powder in W3.

L'Oreal Paris True Match face powder in W3.

I chose to try this for two reasons;
1. A few bloggers and YouTubers have recommended it
2. Who can say no to Chezza?

True match has a huge range of colours, matching 97% of the population..
I have a yellow undertone to my skin and this is usually a problem when buying high street foundations. I feel like they always tend to verge on the pinkish side. Anyone else have this problem?

UK Beauty Blog L'Oeal Paris True Match foundation in Golden Beige

I've been using the liquid foundation on and off for a few weeks now. I've been applying it using the Real Techniques stippling brush. The formula blends so easily and takes no time at all. The finish is also good if applied with fingers, but I just really like using a brush cos I'm weird like that..

The coverage is towards the lighter side of medium, if that makes sense.
I wouldn't describe this product as 'buildable' because when I tried to put a bit more on my chin area, it did start to look a bit cakey. Instead, I just apply concealer where I needed more coverage.

I would give the powder 10/10 for packaging - it comes in a handy little compact with a mirror and powder puff. Fits in the make up bag perfectly!

I usually use translucent powder so was a bit scared that the colour in this powder would be too strong. But the colours match up perfectly.

I actually preferred the foundation without the powder on top.
Do you ever suddenly become aware of the feeling of your make up during the day and want to take it all off? It felt a bit like that.

I have used the powder a few times on its own and its great for brightening my skin when I'm trying to pull of the 'no make up' face. I'll just use these two products seperately, I think.

The liquid foundation on its own has average/good staying power, 6ish hours.
But again, nothing can compete with Double Wear in that department!

I had compliments from friends and family when I wear this foundation. I felt the finish and tone made my skin look a lot brighter and I really liked it.

I'll definitely hang on to this foundation for low-maintenance kinda days when I'm going out for a few hours and my skin needs brightening up.
Or summer days when I just wear a little foundation.

Whats your favourite high-street/drugstore foundation?

Outfit Post - Khaki Jacket

Saturday, 2 March 2013
I have my laptop back! :-) So I'm back to blogging. I'm staying at  my mum's at the moment as my own flat is like a building site. Making the most of getting my dinner made for me!

Today I went for lunch and shopping with my sister and here's what I wore. You might already know that I've been a bit obsessed with eBay recently.

I really wanted a khaki jacket and in particular, one I'd saw in Zara with an embellished pocket. I knew it wasn't available in store anymore but came across a similar jacket on the Boohoo Outlet via eBay. I didn't even know brands had outlets on eBay. This jacket was reduced from £35 to £25. The outlet has the normal returns policy which is excellent. You can find it here

I can already think of loads of things I can wear this jacket with <3

khaki jacket outfit of the day
Sorry for the squinty hair and weird faces. I was trying things on before I took these pics and hadn't fixed my hair. The weird faces are just me trying to tell my mum how to work my camera!

Khaki Jacket: Boohoo Outlet £25 , Stripey Crop Jumper: H&M £14.99 (no longer available),
Leather Side Panel Leggings: Topshop £20.00 , Black Combat Boots: Nine West (Bought in US)
Black Gold Spike bag: H&M £29.99 (Sold out online)

The jacket is like a really heavy shirt and I love the gold collar tip detailing.

I've worn my black leather side panel leggings to death since I got them. They're starting to lose shape and I'm on a hunt for a replacement - leggings or jeans. I just need them to be black and stay skinny all day!

Any recommendations for jeans that stay skinny all day ??
