OUTFIT || Summer Sales!

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

SALE Pink top with frilled sleeves, Zara £29.99 reduced to £22.99 (here)
SALE Patterned Trousers, Topshop £32.00 reduced to £15.00 (Sold out online!)
Black ballet flats, Matalan £10.00
Red Twin Zip bag, Next £32.00 (here)

After months of 'I've nothing to wear!' tantrums every single morning before work, I decided to focus on getting some new outfits with my birthday money. I've always felt a sense of resentment buying work clothes. There are girls who put a lot of effort and money into looking good in the office. Although I'd love to wear what they wear, I'm in the office to make money. And I don't want to spend a lot of that money trying to look good while I'm making money. Does that even make sense?! I hope so!

Imagine my joy when I realised the Summer sales had just started and the shops not only had had my size in a lot of their clothes, but they were organised, tidy and in size order! (*HALLELUJAH!*) I love these trousers. They're smart and comfy and the white/red pattern brightens them up. This bag was also another good find, I went into Next for the first time in ages and this caught my eye straight away. I love this shape of bag and the colour is perfect to brighten up any outfit! It wasn't on sale but for £32, I can't complain!

*************

ALSO, just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for reading my blog! I got to 100 followers over the weekend and it means so much to me! To say thanks, I'm going to do my first giveaway over the weekend! Now I can't wait to go shopping on Saturday to pick the prizes.

Have any of you been to the sales yet??

OUTFIT || Side Split Maxi with Cut Out Boots

Sunday, 23 June 2013

Light Wash Denim Jacket, Primark (old)
Avril Leather Cut Out Boots, Miss Selfridge £69
Black Fringe Bag, Primark
Rings and necklace, Primark: Above Knuckle rings, eBay

Yesterday was my birthday - I'm now 24 which I've learned is classed as 'mid twenties'. Slightly scared by that fact - I can't believe it's been 3 years since my 21st. I'm definitely having some kind of mid life crisis today! We went to a nice hotel in Port Glasgow on Friday night and then last night we went out for drinks locally. I wasn't actually planning on doing anything on my actual birthday, so I was glad we did because it meant I got to wear my new dress! This was a present from my boyfriend which I picked out - I saw Tanya Burr wearing this in her holiday blog post and loved the colours. Luckily I got the last one in the shop! (But it's still available online!)

I feel a bit vulnerable today after drinking too much last night. I'm waiting on the chippy opening at 5pm so I can get some much needed hangover food!

Hope you all had a good weekend!!

REVIEW || Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Peony

Saturday, 22 June 2013

I finally managed to get to 1000 Advantage card points. I usually don't make it past one pounds worth before spending them on sweets or magazines! I picked up this gorgeous Revlon Colorburst lipgloss for £7.99. It's a lovely peachy coral colour with a gold shimmer which reminds me of Nars Orgasm. Even the packaging makes it look like a high end product. The formula isn't at all sticky which is the main thing that normally puts me off wearing gloss. It's not scented, but that doesn't bother me either - a strong scent can spoil a good lip gloss at times. This looks beautiful over a coral or pink toned lipstick. I'll definitely be trying some of the other shades in this range.

Have you tried any of these lip glosses?

REVIEW || Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara

Wednesday, 19 June 2013
I was in Boots on Saturday when I saw this little Benefit set. It was £9.50 for miniature sizes of BADgal Lash Mascara, Porefessional and Posie Tint. Since I've been wanting to try all three of these for a while it was a no brainer!

I haven't had a change to try out the other products yet but thought I'd do a quick review on the BADgal Lash Mascara.

What did I like?
After trying and disliking Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara, I thought this might be similar. But it's totally different. The formula is thinner and doesn't clump whatsoever. It just separates the lashes and leaves them looking quite natural. It didn't smudge or run, and was perfect for my bottom lashes.

What didn't I like?
I normally apply two coats of mascara but I found this impossible to build. I like my lashes to look full and thick.. if that's the right word. It just wasn't dramatic enough for me. This would be perfect if you're going for the 'barely there' kind of make up and just looking for an extra something on your lashes!

Have any of you tried this? What did you think?x

REVIEW || No 7 Natural Blush - Coral Flush

Monday, 17 June 2013
I've never really taken much notice of the No 7 voucher that usually comes with a Boots receipt. I've never used No 7 make up and I always have a feeling everything is overpriced to compensate for the £5.00 voucher everyone gets given. I was in Glasgow Airport a while ago and trying to kill time, so I decided to actually use my voucher to try out their blusher.

I picked number 12 'Coral Flush' which is a medium pinky coral.

This was originally £8 so I only paid £3.

What did I like?

This blush is really pigmented and doesn't take a lot to get a nice colour. It's a perfect 'every day' kind of of colour which would suit fair to medium skin tones. My skin is still quite tanned at the moment, and this colour just looks like a natural flush. I also really like the packaging and there's a lot of product so it will last a long time, I think.

What didn't I like?
The powder itself isn't pressed as tightly as other blushes. This means that even a gentle tap with a blusher brush leaves quite a lot of loose powder, so it could get quite messy. I don't think I'd carry this in my bag, cos I can imagine it breaking up quite easily.

Would I buy it again?
I think this is worth the £3 that I paid, but if I didn't have a voucher, I wouldn't pay £8. There's about 6 colours in the range, so I'd try out some of the other colours - but only if I have a voucher!

What do you think of the No7 blushers? Do you use your No7 vouchers?

OUTFIT || Neon and Denim

Sunday, 16 June 2013

Denim Jacket, Primark (last year)
White Celine Tshirt, eBay: around £10, similar here.
Motteled Flocked Treggings £28, Topshop. (here)
Neon Satchel, Topshop £28. (sold out in lime, other colours here)
Converse Trainers, £44.99 (here)
Rings, Primark and Above Knuckle rings, eBay (here)

I can't believe I haven't posted about this satchel yet - I've been wearing it almost every day since my holiday! It's the perfect size. Because if I use a big bag, it's filled to the top with everything I own within a few days. My work bag  usually has a few tins of soup floating about it by Friday! This fits my purse, phone and a few little things and the colour brightens up my outfit. I love that high street shops have finally came up with good quality satchels that are a lot more purse-friendly than Zatchels or Cambridge Co.

This denim jacket has been resurrected from my sister's wardrobe. I think it's from last year but it may actually be from the year before. I love denim jackets again, they remind me of being 12 years old in the
summer holidays - when double denim was all the rage!

I'm going to try and do an outfit post every Sunday now. I really enjoy doing outfit posts but it can be stressful getting my boyfriend to take the pictures for me. He almost misses out my feet. Or my hair. It's my birthday on Sunday and I've asked for a new camera so I'll be able to do it by myself now :)

Hope you've all had a good weekend :D

Summer Tootsies || DIY Pedicure

Tuesday, 11 June 2013
Hello lovelies :)

The unexpected sunny weather definitely got me thinking that I need to be better prepared for the next 'heat wave'. (Anything above 15 in Scotland!)
If I'm honest, I've never taken much care of my feet. Probably because my sandal wearing time is limited in Glasgow.

As you'll see from my last post, I'm Body Shop mad at the moment since I've started doing pamper parties. This kit came as part of my samples and I couldn't help but try it out.

Peppermint has never been my favourite smell. I prefer fruity smells. But after using it, I understand why they've picked peppermint.

I've went through this full routine twice now and the difference is massive.

STEP ONE: FILE & SCRUB

Not the most attractive activity - but filing your feet is essential. Everyone has seen that advert with the horrible heels. *shudder* I find this foot file a lot easier than the Ped-egg because it has a long handle to let you sit however you want to reach your feet.

The pumice scrub feels lovely afterwards. It feels good to scrub my feet in the shower, although I don't think it makes a huge difference overall.

STEP TWO: SOAK

I always thought soaking your feet was for grannies but I love it now. These are just little crystals that you sprinkle into warm water in a basin. I put the telly on, pop my feet in and chill out for a bit before bed. This helps soften the skin and helps prepare feet for the next step.

STEP THREE: MOISTURISE

This step made me understand the whole 'Peppermint' thing. When your feet have been soaking in warm water for a while, it's such a nice feeling to put the peppermint lotion on. The peppermint cools my feet and makes them tingle a bit so it feels like it's working even more!

************************************************************

I seriously can't get over how much I regret not doing this before. The difference is huge and I wish I could post a 'before and after' to show you - but it's feet, so I won't.

This is the first foot range that I've tried. I love using all the products from the same range when it's something like this, and I definitely plan on trying out some other brands.

Have you ever tried these products? What do you use on your feet?

Body Shop Beauties!

Monday, 3 June 2013
Hello lovelies! <3

The Body Shop have always been a favourite of mine and even more so since I've signed up as a Body Shop consultant and discovered some new AMAZING products. Being a consultant basically involves throwing 'pamper parties' for people where you demonstrate the products, play games etc. I haven't had my first 'proper' party yet but I did a mini one in work which went really well.

It's my own fault that it's not been a huge money-maker for me so far. My boyfriend asked me how much commission I'd made and I didn't know... because I used it all to order more products.
*Kinda defeats the purpose Eilidh!*

But I'm happy and smell like coconut so who cares ..

Anyway, I thought I'd post about my favourite ranges so far from what I've been loving the most recently.

(And this isn't a sponsored post by the way if that's how it looks .. )

1. This is the Coconut shower cream, body scrub and body butter. I've been using this religiously for the past week and love being able to smell it off my skin even hours after my shower. The body butter is so good for dry skin. So far this has been the most popular range. It smells like heaven!

2. Absinthe Hand Cream

Sounds weird, doesn't it? Most people would only go near Absinthe for a dare. (In fact, most sane people wouldn't!) But this hand cream is just so fresh! It's a smell that's quite hard to describe, it's almost citrus-y. Really clean! It's a really light hand cream that leaves my hands soft without being greasy.

3. Lastly, it's the Strawberry shower cream and body butter.
I can't say no to a matching shower gel and moisturiser combo. There's never a better way to make sure you get the full potential I think. Strawberry is a famous Body Shop scent and reminds me of when I was really young and used to get miniatures from Santa!

I've been unusually excited for my shower these days. But I'm slightly worried for the storage problems I'm facing if I keep buying more!

What's your favourite Body Shop products? Are any of you Body Shop consultants??
