DKNY Spring/Summer Fragrances

DKNY CITY BLOSSOM REVIEW

One of my favourite things about the build-up to summer is choosing a new summer fragrance. I'm quite picky when it comes to perfumes - I know what I like and I tend to stick to the same kind of scents and brands. Do any of you do this too? One of my favourite brands has always been DKNY. I'll never forget getting my first bottle of 'Be Delicious' when I was still at school. It came with a little apple charm bracelet and I thought I was the coolest person ever. I was so excited when I got the chance to some of the new perfumes from the DKNY S/S range. I swear I could stare at these pretty pastel bottles all day!
DKNY Be Delicious City Blossom

The first two are from the new DKNY Be Delicious collection, 'City Blossom'. The collection has three scents - the classic Be Delicious perfume and two new twists on the original. I love the shape of the bottles - perfect for carrying around and they make a lovely little dressing table decoration too!

DKNY Be Delicious City Blossom 'Urban Violet'* - Urban Violet has top notes of raspberry, blackberry and red delicious apple blossom. To the untrained nose (mine), I'd say it's a bit like parma violets. It's really light, feminine and fruity in a subtle way, if that makes sense. This one is my favourite!

DKNY Be Delicious City Bottom 'Empire Apple'* - Empire Apple is the classic Be Delicious scent that almost everyone can recognise. Apple, cucumber, grapefruit and magnolia are the top notes and to me, it's the apple that stands out the most. This is the perfect candidate for a summer holiday perfume!

(Click here to see the third scent in this collection ... 'Rooftop Peony')

DKNY Woman perfume 100ml

Next is the gorgeous DKNY Women Limited Edition fragrance*. Although two of the main 'notes' are grapefruit and pear, this one is a lot less fruity than the Be Delicious collection. It's a fresh, feminine, clean scent and a lovely day time perfume. This one is available exclusively at Superdrug (here).

Have you tried any of the new DKNY perfumes?

Tea, Cake and Blogging Chat

Scottish bloggers

I had such a busy weekend that I couldn't fit it all into yesterday's post, so today's post is basically part one of last weekend! So on Saturday afternoon, I went for afternoon tea with some of the lovely girls that I've met through blogging over the last year. We always get a catch-up at events but it was good to have one full afternoon dedicated to blog-chat and gossip. We went to Snuggle Muffin which is a gorgeous little cake shop in George Street, Glasgow (just off George Square). I'm not even kidding, it was the best cake I've ever had. And as a big lover of cake, I'd say that's a pretty big statement. Before Saturday, I'd never had 'afternoon tea', which is weird considering tea and cake is my favourite thing. If I'd known you could go somewhere and get unlimited tea and a selection of different cakes, I'd have been all over that. We stayed until the shop closed then headed up to Rottenrow gardens to continue the gossip in the sunshine. We had such a fun day and I'm already looking forward to the next one! Here's some of the pics and links to the other girls' blogs too, if you want to have a wee look ! :)

Edinburgh is my absolute favourite place to visit so when my mum and dad couldn't make it to their birthday night away last night, me and Andy were more than happy to step in at the last minute. We've been to Edinburgh a lot over the past few years and I just love the place! I always come home feeling like I want to live there. We stayed in the Caledonian hotel in Princes street, which was beautiful inside with a huge big staircase that was just like the one in Titanic. Although I must admit I felt a bit like Jack Dawson, walking about in my Primark sandals .. but who cares. When we got there, we went for dinner to a restaurant called La Piazza, and then onto a live music bar called Rat Pack which was the happiest place ever! Everyone was dancing and the singer looked like Buble .. *swoon*

In the morning, we headed out early to find a place for breakfast. We ended up in a gorgeous french cafe, Cafe Rouge, in Frederick Street. This place had the most amazing breakfast menu, definitely check it out if you're ever nearby! Afterwards, we did a bit of shopping and drove home. We even managed to resist temptation to stop at Krispy Kreme on the way home.

Now onto the outfit, although there's not too much to say about this one. A kind of accidental outfit that I put together from things I was wearing when I left and things I randomly threw in my bag whilst 'packing'. Anyway, I'm loving wearing this mint sequin tee at the moment. I was a bit unsure how to wear it casually before, but now I just throw it on with anything and I really like how it looks just tucked into black jeans. Sequins at breakfast .. how unexpected.

So here's some of my favourite photos from this morning .. hope you like!

Summer Dress, sunglasses and sandals

Wednesday, 23 April 2014
UK Fashion blog

I'm almost finished shopping for my holiday to Portugal in May - I can't believe there's only 3 weeks to go! Shoop, shoop, shoop. I've stocked up on chunky sandals, midi skirts and printed trousers but one thing I've noticed is that I haven't bought one summer dress yet. It feels wrong. I love all the new spring/summer trends but no matter what, a printed summer dress is a must-have every year. This one caught my eye on the Zara website and I am absolutely in love with it - the print, the colours, the cut outs .. it's perfect. Swoon. I can't wait until the weekend so I can try it on. I ended up creating a little outfit in my Zara shopping bag and since I can't buy it all, I thought I'd share it with you all to get it out my system. Roll on pay day...

So what do you think? Where do you shop for summer dresses?

Bank Holiday Sunshine and another midi skirt

How nice was the weather yesterday? My happiness levels were at an all time high for a Monday. We should definitely have more bank holidays in this country - I can't see anyone objecting to that. Me and Andy were going out for lunch yesterday so I decided to take my camera to get some pictures in the sunshine. Although it was sunny, it was also really windy so I decided to go half-way with my outfit. I wore my new black chiffon midi skirt from Primark with this cropped stripy jumper that I've had for ages. I rediscovered this little printed bomber jacket from H&M, and although I'd never normally have put it with stripes, I really liked these two patterns together. I definitely have a new love for midi skirts. I just can't get enough of the floatiness. After lunch, we went back to our friends garden and sat in the garden drinking Smirnoff Ice - my favourite sunny day drink!

Only 4 days until the weekend! What did you all get up to over the weekend?

Denim Jacket: New Look || Grey Crop: H&M || White Midi Skirt: Primark
Black Pool Sliders: Primark || Bag: Primark || Gold watch: Marc Jacobs

I think it's safe to say it's now officially spring! *cartwheels* The sun is shining and although it's not quite as toasty as I'd like, it's warm enough for me to wear my first spring-y outfit of the year. I picked up this white midi skirt in Primark the other day and I know this is going to be a favourite this year. This style is everywhere at the moment, and I can't help but jump on the bandwagon for anything floaty and high-waisted. I love how these look with cropped tops like this one, and I've also worn it with a little jumper tucked in too which I really liked.

So I hope you're all filling up on as many Easter eggs as you can today, and enjoying your long weekend if you're lucky enough to have one! I'm off tomorrow so I'm going into town tonight for some cocktails, and today we're having an Easter egg hunt with my nephew which I know will be ridiculously cute!

 Enjoy the sun everyone!

Do you like this skirt? How would you style it?

Essie Twinkle-Belle Duo

Essie Mint Candy Apple
Essie Sparkle on Top swatch

Hello lovelies! I'm very happy to finally show you this lovely little duo in all it's glory, now that my colour wheels have finally arrived. The days of stressing out trying to take pictures of my own hands are over! So I picked up this Essie duo as part of my birthday outfit for the St Enoch Centre magazine (see that post here). Mint is my favourite summer colour, by far, and I'd heard a few people recommend Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple' as a favourite. I was excited to try it, but even more so with this beautiful sparkly top coat, 'Sparkle on top'. The sparkles are silver with a mint tinted shine to them, and together they somehow remind me of a mermaid's tail (you know, because I see them all the time..). The top coat would go nicely over any summer shade, and similarly the Mint Candy Apple is gorgeous on it's own too. I've always been a fan of the Essie nail polish formula but, as you'd expect from any pastel shade, it takes about 3/4 coats to get a good, opaque coverage. When you add in the top coat, it's quite a timely exercise! I'd recommend tackling this duo when you have at least an hour that you can afford to go hands-free, because you will need the drying time! Trust me though, it's all worth it :)

Do you like this duo? What's your favourite Essie shade?

Since my hair is finally getting that little bit longer, I've been making the most of it by trying out different hairstyles. The halo braid is a really popular style at the moment and it's definitely one of my favourites. It's so easy to do and the perfect style if you're like me and constantly trying to keep your hair off your face. I love this milkmaid braid in the centre too. I tried this one out a while ago but it didn't look quite right on me. Looking at this picture, I think it looks so much better when the braids are really messy, so I'm going to give it another go! Have you tried this style? I'm going on holiday soon so I'm on the lookout for any easy styles to keep my frizzy beach hair (and not the nice kind) under control - I know this messy side braid will be my saviour on days at the beach. What's your favourite holiday hairstyle?

Zara Printed Trousers

Black Leather Jacket: Topshop || Light Blue Sweater: Dorothy Perkins
Printed Trousers: Zara || Black Pool Sliders: Primark (£8) || Bag: Primark (£8)

What a stressful week. I've had so much to do and haven't been feeling good lately, so unfortunately my outfit pictures aren't the best this week. I've only managed to find one semi-acceptable picture. I blame the weather. I really hope the talk of a long heatwave is true - sunny outfit pictures are the best kind!

Anyway, I still wanted to post this outfit because I'm in love with these Zara trousers. These were a holiday purchase so I've got plans to wear them with a cami and flip flops when I'm away, but this light jumper and leather jacket will have to do for now. I also wanted to show you Primarks latest success! I've been looking for a chunky pair of sandals like these for a while, and was close to buying a Topshop pair for £22 (these ones) when I saw they had an almost identical pair in Primark. I bought a pair in black and white, and still ended up saving! I've worn the black ones once, and they were really comfy so the only thing left to test is how long they'll last. Either way, I'm so happy with that bargain. I'll definitely be back to Primark in the next few weeks for some beach-wear and accessories!

'from LeeLee with love' set by Benefit

Benefit from LeeLee with love review
'from LeeLee with Love' set by Benefit £29.50

I've been trying out different high-street primers for a while, and nothing seems to compare to Benefit 'The POREfessional' primer. I've concluded that when it comes to primer, you get what you pay for.  So I went into Boots a few weeks ago, prepared hand over my £24.50 at the Benefit counter (even though it's worth it, that still hurts a bit!). I usually try not to get sucked in by the up-sells at the counter, but the Benefit girl was lovely and when she saw I was buying POREfessional, she showed me this gorgeous little gift set. She told me that for just £5.00 more, I'd get a full size primer, full size 'They're Real' mascara and a 'Laugh with me LeeLee' mini perfume. Considering the mascara itself is normally £19.50 - I'd say that's a pretty good deal! On top of this, they all come presented in a gorgeous sky blue and pink designed tin. This is so pretty and definitely one to keep - perfect for dressing table storage!

I might do individual reviews on these another day, but at the moment I just wanted to show you this lovely little set and how good value it is. If you've got your eye on something from Benefit, it's definitely worthwhile checking if there's any sets available first and then you can try out some other products too! Boots stock sets like these every so often, with a mix of different products and sizes and they're also available direct from the Benefit website if you want to have a look!

Have you tried any of the Benefit sets? Do you like these products?

'The Ultimate Birthday Outfit' with St Enoch Centre*

Monday, 7 April 2014
Hello everyone! Happy Monday! So if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you might have seen me casually mention *ahem* that I'm guest blogging in the St Enoch centre magazine that came out on Thursday. Just kidding, I was so excited that I think I told everyone I met that day. I got the outfit and had the pictures taken a while ago, so I'm glad to finally tell you all about it in today's post!

So it's the St Enoch centres 25th birthday this year and to mark the special occasion, I was asked to pick 'The Ultimate Birthday Outfit' to feature in their birthday issue of the magazine. Afterwards, I had my pictures taken by their photographer and also got to write a bit about what I picked and why.

UK Fashion and Beauty blog

Now let's talk about the outfit. I didn't really know what I was looking for at first, but when I went into Topshop I was instantly drawn to this mint sequin tee. I don't know if it's the colour or the sequins, I just love this. This metallic jacquard skort was hanging nearby and I couldn't believe my luck when I tried them and they went perfectly together - I'd found my outfit in record time! I decided to keep it simple for the shoes and came across this gorgeous rose/nude pair by Faith in the Debenhams sale. They were reduced from £55 to £16.50 and they only had my size left - is that fate or is that fate? Next, I found myself back in Topshop looking for a bag to break the colours up. I found this grey and white Colour Block Merino Clutch which finished it off perfectly I think. If you're wondering, this is the missing clutch bag I've been ranting about on Twitter. I know it must be in my flat somewhere, I just don't know where. *sigh*

Topshop Metallic Jacquard Skort outfit

Since I had my full outfit and still had a bit of my budget left, I did what any other girl would do and set off to Boots. I picked up the gorgeous 'Twinkle-belle' Essie Duo and a Bourjois 'Rouge Edition' lipstick in shade 17 'Rose Millesime' - I'll tell you more about these two in separate posts later this week!

Finally, thanks so much to the St Enoch centre for asking me to take part, and happy birthday! :)

What do you think of this outfit? Do you like wearing pastels together?

Checked Coat: Zara || White Knitted Jumper: H&M (here) || Molly Jeggings: River Island

Hello! Well if there's ever a picture to highlight my need for fake tan, it's this one. Someone get me an Instagram filter, stat.  I'm actually going to get right on the fake tan when I finish writing this, I need some colour to convince myself it's April anyway. I can't believe there still hasn't been one hot day yet. I'm constantly fighting the overwhelming urge to have a barbeque and a Smirnoff ice in the rain. Well, only five weeks until we go to Portugal and I'm counting down the hours. *shoop shoop shoop..*

These shoes are my current favourites and probably the comfiest flats I've ever worn. I love the cut out detail and they're pointy, which is a style I'm a bit obsessed with just now. I also wanted to show you these Molly jeggings that I picked up in the River Island sale during the week. They're called 'jeggings', but there's really no difference between these and the Topshop 'jeans'. Come to think of it, jeans aren't really 'jeans' any more, are they? Skinny jeans are normally just soft, tight trousers these days. Anyway, these fit nicely and hold their shape well throughout the day. I'd been wearing these all day when these pictures were taken and they were just starting to get looser at the knees.

Thanks so much to those who voted for me in the Pastel Me Pretty competition. Please keep voting, I appreciate it so much! Oh and there's just two days left to enter my Babyliss Volume Waves giveaway! The winner will be picked on Wednesday, so watch this space. Ok, I've rambled enough now, it's fake tan time.

Have you tried the Molly jeggings? What did you think?

There's a reason for the unusual mid-week outfit post - this is my entry for the Style Fruits 'Pastel Me Pretty' competition! I've been loving pastels lately, especially since I picked this coral coat up in the sale. It's a slightly bolder colour which really helps to break up the lighter blue shades in this outfit. These floral printed trousers/jeggings/jeans (or whatever you'd call them), have been at the back of my wardrobe for a while, but I'm so glad I tried them on again because I think they finish this outfit off perfectly. The top prize for this competition is a pastel blue Michael Kors 'Selma' bag, which as you can imagine, made me go a little crazy. I love the Selma bag. There's also a gorgeous pair of pastel pink Ray-bans and a Marc Jacobs purse to be won! So pretty pretty please vote for me!

You can vote for me here! It just takes a sec and would make me sooo happy! :)
