I've had the same skincare routine for the longest time - partly because it was working and partly because I was scared to try anything new in case my skin threw a major tantrum. You can see my previous post on my skincare routine here. I knew the products were quite harsh but they seemed to keep my skin clear until recently, when it started feeling really dry and irritated. My skin's super sensitive, so trying new products is a bit of a gamble.
When I went to a Superdrug event last month, they kindly gave me some products to try including a Micellar Water from their Vitamin E range. Micellar waters have been all the rage recently with Bioderma and the Garnier one being the most talked about, so I was really interested to try this one. After a week of using it, I was so happy with it that I decided to go back for some more of the range. I've been using the micellar water, the facial serum and moisturiser and here's what I think of them so far...
The most noticeable thing about this product is how quickly it removes all my make-up. I'd normally have used 3 or 4 cotton pads but with this water, I only need 2. It's also gentle enough to use on the eyes, although it probably wouldn't take off waterproof mascara. After using this, my face feels super clean and soft and it's helped my dry, sensitive skin feel more balanced.
I've actually never used a facial serum before, but this was just £3.99 so I had to give it a go. The consistency is somewhere between a really light moisturiser and a brightening primer. It gives the skin a lovely glow, so it looks lovely under matte foundations like my personal favourite, Estee Lauder Double Wear. I've also been using it at night time under the Intense Cream to give my skin some extra moisture.
My skin has actually been crying out for something like this over the last few months. It's a heavy, non-greasy moisturiser that I've been applying at night time, leaving it to soak in while I sleep. In the mornings, my skin's felt soft and so much healthier. I've always said I had combination skin because my forehead could feel quite oily at times, but I actually feel like my whole skin type is changing just by switching products.
Have any of you had to change your skincare over the Winter months?

It's crazy how your skin reacts to products, I've heard it can produce oil if it's dehydrated so these must really be balancing out how hydrated your skin is! The serum sounds lovely, and at that price how can you say no?
